Ever since I started writing a blog I’ve been following several bloggers who also write about crafty things and take beautiful photos of their creations. One blog in particular that I love is Little Cotton Rabbits – the gorgeously cute knitted animals that Julie creates are just wonderful! I also love the banner at the top of her blog page and the way she’s included so many different objects as a border for her title.
When I first received the digital copies of my new logo I immediately printed a copy, just to see what it would look like. And as it was sitting there on my desk I was suddenly reminded of Julie’s banner and decided to have a go at something similar with my logo!
Now, at the time, my house was undergoing some fairly substantial building work and my craft room was mostly packed up in boxes. However, I managed to unearth a few random bits and pieces to play around with.
It was a lot of fun choosing different combinations of objects and seeing what it looked like with more or less objects around the edge of the photo.
I also had a go at editing the photos using Picasa 3, something that still feels fairly new to me. I mostly stuck to lightening the photos slightly, although I’m still not sure I got the balance right. I think I need more practise…
I’d love to know what you think, especially which layout is your favourite!
I’m drawn to the first photo at the top! What about a split button jar look? With a few carefully selected beads spillling out the jar!
Thanks for your feedback Mary! And I like the idea of buttons spilling out of a jar (in a carefully selected manner, of course…) I’ll have a little play around!
